Maine Last Will and Testament Form

Maine last will and testament lets a person, known as a testator, create legally enforceable directions for how their property should be distributed after they die. The testator’s property is known as an “estate,” and the people or organizations to whom the estate is given are called “beneficiaries.” Wills can also appoint guardians to oversee property for minors, and can modify or revoke the testator’s previous wills.

Laws Title 18-C, Article 2 (Intestacy, Wills and Donative Transfers)

Signing Requirements (§2-502) – Wills must be signed by the testator in the presence of two witnesses. The witnesses should sign the will a reasonable time after the testator.
