Connecticut Last Will and Testament Form

Connecticut last will and testament is a written record of instructions for the distribution of the assets of a deceased person. By creating a will before dying, the deceased person, known as the testator, can ensure that the people or organizations they want to receive property, who are called beneficiaries, are able to take legal title. A modification of an existing will is called a codicil, and once a codicil is valid, the amended document is also called a will.

Laws – Chapter 802a (Wills: Execution and Construction)

Signing Requirements (§ 45a-251) – To be valid, wills must be in writing and signed by the testator in the presence of two witnesses, who must also sign a statement affirming that they saw the testator sign the will. If a will was validly created in another state with different requirements, it can still enter probate in Connecticut courts.
